No to Battery Swapping – A prudent decision or market distortion by over enthusiastic Gadkari

Niti Aayog’s battery swapping policy to promote electric vehicle push is not viable in India, Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday.

Gadkari said “The swapping (battery) policy I feel is not appropriate for the country because it is a very difficult thing… that is not going to be possible in the country,” he said.

No one including his boss PM Modi  ever believed that catapulting  India into EV race would be a easier task. EVpedia views this decision as a big setback for Indian EV space in general  and  for startups like Sun-mobility,  GMW in particular who were banking big on swapping model.
